ATLANTA
(September 13, 2023) – t|e General Counsel, the fractional general counsel practice of Taylor English Duma LLP, announced the addition M. Yusuf Mohamed in Atlanta. Mohamed joins as a partner and will focus his practice on corporate and business matters with a concentration on the technology and manufacturing industries. He leverages his previous in-house experiences to provide personalized solutions to his clients, including start-ups and entrepreneurs, in a way that anticipates their needs and specific legal requirements.

Prior to joining t|e General Counsel, Mohamed led Tesla’s employment, labor, safety and health, and immigration practices for seven years. When he first began at Tesla, he was the sole employment lawyer and was charged with building a legal team needed to support the company’s ever-growing employee population. During his time with the company the number of employees grew from 10,000 to more than 100,000. Mohamed worked closely with company leadership to create systems for repeatable solutions to complex workplace problems. He oversaw his team’s budget and hiring activities, and assisted with acquisitions in Europe, Canada, Asia, and the United States. During his tenure, the employment team grew from one person to fourteen lawyers and paralegals, and Mohamed eventually managed a team of 29 people worldwide.
Mohamed also served as Associate General Counsel for Wayne Farm LLC. In this role, he advised executives on a variety of corporate matters, such as mergers and acquisitions, contract interpretations, risk assessment, environmental, construction, labor and employment law, crisis management, and compliance issues.
Mohamed received his BSM from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and his JD from the University of Georgia School of Law. After graduating from law school, he spent seven years serving as a trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Labor.
The addition of Mohamed closely follows the recent addition of partner Purvi Shah in Overland Park, Kansas. t|e General counsel currently has 18 partners located in California, Georgia, Florida, Kansas, Illinois, Michigan, and North Carolina.
